Nine stories that shape the identity of a legendary hotel
Alcron Bar unveils its new cocktail menu, crafted by our bar team and inspired by the hotel’s history, the stories of its guests, and the character of the place itself. The nine signature cocktails combine local ingredients, premium products, and a modern mixology approach. “We wanted to create a menu that not only tastes great but also reflects the stories that have unfolded at Alcron. Each cocktail has its purpose and its emotion,” says Bar Manager Lukáš Matulík.
Local ingredients, global flavours and Czech design
The bar team works with local ingredients — homemade caramel miso, lovage or horseradish — complemented by flavours inspired by travels around the world, such as pandan, black cardamom or smoked Spanish olives. Three cocktails are served in original glasses created in collaboration with Qubus, a studio that has long shaped contemporary Czech design. “Qubus is a partner who understands that the glass can be part of the story. Our menu therefore works not only with flavour but also with the visual experience,” the team adds.
Story-driven cocktails and the visual signature of Dávid Frolo
A standout element of the new menu is Unexpected, a combination of Czech ghee rum, Havana rum and redcurrant. Its story is inspired by a real event, when housekeeping discovered a crocodile in one of the rooms. This moment was transformed into an illustration by bar supervisor and graphic designer Dávid Frolo. “When creating the artwork, I focused on the emotion of the moment. I wanted the guest to understand that this is not just a drink, but a story that truly happened,” says Dávid. Another new addition is Stumblin’ In, a refreshing blend of tequila, passion fruit, Greek yoghurt and Champagne. The drink pays tribute to a world-famous singer who was a long-time regular at the Alcron Hotel.
Modern interpretations of classics
The second part of the menu presents contemporary takes on bar classics. Among the highlights are Coffee Banana – a creative fusion of an espresso martini and Irish coffee, and Negrovi Tropico – a tropical rendition of a negroni with rum, coconut and lacto-fermented strawberries. “Our aim was to make the classics more approachable and playful while maintaining technical precision. It is a bridge between tradition and our own identity,” says the Alcron Bar team.
Alcron Bar today
The new menu confirms the direction in which Alcron Bar is headed — a blend of innovative mixology, local produce and Czech design. It also shows that the bar team works not only with flavour, but with storytelling, aesthetics and the overall guest experience. “We want every guest to leave with the feeling that they’ve experienced something unique and authentic. That, for us, is the definition of the modern Alcron Bar,” the team concludes.
